Gunmen abduct Benue Commissioner and Local Government Chairman.

On Monday, the Benue State Government verified the kidnapping of Mr. Matthew Abo, who serves as the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, along with Mr. Iorwashima Erukaa, a former Chairman of the Ukum Local Government Area (LGA).

In a statement, Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, reported that Mr. Abo was seized by armed individuals at his Sankara residence around 8 pm on Sunday, while Mr. Erukaa was taken on Saturday.

"The abductors transported both individuals to undisclosed places. They have established communication with Erukaa's family but have not yet made contact with Abo's family," Kula stated.
